Distributed teams could sometimes run out of things to say to each other. Sometimes we face people that always talk on conference calls and some people don't get the space. Many engagement tools fall short on fun and creativity, and at the same time don't really offer the wide variety of topics for engagement of every person.
This one does: sport from tennis, football and basketball to horse racing, esports and Formula 1; weather guesses for cities around the world; some pop culture; and a little of whatever is happening in the world right now.
“This isn't just a team-building exercise. It's something to enjoy together.”
The public platform covers a wide range of topics, including global events and macroeconomics — which we can remove from your group's view on request.
Specifically: football, hockey, tennis, handball, Formula 1, basketball, rugby, baseball, AFL, MMA, NFL, volleyball, UFC, cricket, esports, horse racing, the weather in cities around the world, and whether a British train will be late. Roughly a hundred new questions appear in the feed every day.
Inside your group, an admin — and anyone else you authorise — can write bets of their own. A visiting director mentioning a particular word, who arrives late on a given day, what tomorrow's menu will be at the restaurant downstairs. You can also use the betting mechanism as a voting poll: where to hold the Christmas party, for instance. The choice is yours. These resolve either by a vote of the team or by an admin deciding.
A space can run events — a match day, an offsite, a hackathon — gathering a handful of questions with their own leaderboard and a big-screen view built to be read from across a room. People scan a code and join from their phones. It works about as well in a hallway at a conference as it does in an office.
